Jenny Matic - Chairperson

jennyMs Jenny Matic is highly regarded in the multicultural sector and known for her work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and is currently a Victorian Multicultural Commissioner.
Jenny is also the chairperson of the North West Metropolitan Regional Advisory Council which serves as a direct link between community and the Commission. She has extensive experience working within Government, small business, as well as serving on boards both in the public health sector and the community. Her expertise in the Health and Ageing portfolio was recognized, as she was seconded to the office of the former Minister for Health and Ageing the Hon. David Davis, as Senior Advisor.
More recently Jenny has accepted a role at Leading Age Services Australia (Victoria), the peak body for age care services as Executive Director, Membership Services and Advocacy.


Michael Stephan Pernar – Vice Chairperson

michael2Michael has been on the Committee of Management of Australian Croatian Community Services Inc. for the past 10 years. Prior to this affiliation, he was employed by ACCS as a Community Development worker from 1991 through to 1995 in the roles of Grant-In-Aid worker, working with the newly arrived, especially from war-torn Croatia and as a Home and Community Care worker supporting the Croatian Elderly.
Michael has worked as the Manager / CEO of the Laverton Community Integrated Services since November 1995. The Centre operates under the Community Development model offering the community Adult Education, Community Childcare and Welfare type services. The Centre advocates on behalf of local residents and the community as a whole.
Michael commenced on the initial Laverton Community Bank Steering Committee in 1998 and in 2000 became an inaugural Director and the Company Secretary of the local Bendigo Community Bank network [Laverton / Altona Meadows, Altona and Point Cook branches]. Aside from the HBCFS responsibilities, he sits on the State Consultative Committee for Emergency Relief provision by the Commonwealth government and is an executive member of Adult Community Education Victoria [ACE (Vic)].
Today Michael participates on many Council project committees and working groups continuing to build and enhance the necessary networks, relationships and partnerships, and ultimately, benefits for Laverton.
In 2002 Julia Gillard MP presented Michael with the Centenary of Federation medal with the citation reading "...for outstanding service to the community of Laverton".


Slavko Bilos - Treasurer

sbilosSlavko moved to Australia when he was 22. All this time he has been heavily involved in Croatian community, including AHD, Melbourne Knights, Croatian Credit Union, and Hajduk Soccer Club.
Professionally he was in finance industry for 40 years. He worked in Sales Management for AMP for 20 years and ran his own business as a Financial Planner.
During his working years in finance sector, Slavko achieved numerous top awards for the successful management of business services and staff.


Dr Miro Ljubicic - Secretary

miroA tertiary education teacher for over 12 years’ experience. Spent six months in Medan Indonesia, delivering training for TAFE Indo. Similarly, spent six months in Solomon Islands, delivering training for Solomon Islands Government employees, on behalf of Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands (RAMSI). Presented an article at the 6th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen Scotland, 15-16 September 2011. Awarded the Spirit of Moonee Valley Meritorious Award on October 7, 2011 for his outstanding contributions in improving the quality and sustainability of the Moonee Valley lifestyle. Became an official reviewer for USABE (New Orleans) 26th annual entrepreneurial conference in 2012. Hold Master's degree from Charles Sturt University and PhD in Business from Victoria University. 


John Sipek – Member

John is a Councillor of Moonee Valley City Council, serving as Mayor from 2010 to 2011. He is also a former Victorian Multicultural Commissioner.
Currently he is the Deputy Chair of ISIS Primary Care Pty Ltd, a board member of the Qantas Superannuation Plan for 10 years, and is a long-time member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a member of the Victorian Electrical Line Clearance Consultative Committee, a member of the Jemena Stakeholder Committee and is a EDFL tribunal member. John is an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for Qantas and is a senior union delegate with the Aircraft Workers' Union and a Justice of the Peace in Victoria. John holds an Advanced Diploma of Business Management, and is studying for his Masters of Business Administration.


Boris Jakovac - Member

borisjBoris has academic qualifications in accounting, business management and criminal investigations. He has a long employment history in government administration working in the Australian Taxation Office for over 33 years. His career has been focused on compliance and enforcement and over the last 18 years he has specialised in criminal investigations. In that time Boris was also seconded to the Australian Federal Police working on forfeiture of criminal assets (Proceeds of Crime). Boris also has a long history of involvement within the Croatian community. He is well known for his involvement in community radio and has been the convenor of the Croatian radio program on radio station 3ZZZ for a number of years. Boris shares his life between his children, his career, community involvement and his love for Croatia.
